Biography - Graham Morris


Graham Morris is a Grammy and MTV award-winning director. Graham has eleven MTV nominations, two Grammy nominations and is respected as one of the pre-eminent animators in his field. Graham started his career in London at the prestigious Central School of Art

He joined Electronic Arts in 1980, a computer-animation company based in London's Soho district. While there, his original position grew from lead key animator to become the company's in-house director. As such he directed many commercials for BP, The Gas Company, Black and Decker, just to name a few.

After leaving Electronic Arts to pursue his own career Graham worked with such notables as Paul McCartney, Lisa Stansfield, Lisa Minelli, Terence Trent Darby, among others, and created a solid working relationship with CBS music who became his number one client.

After moving to the United States in 1990 Graham linked himself to both Warner bros. and Marvel and helped in starting a trend of highly stylized animation. With successes from Batman to Earthworm Jim. Graham's reputation increased with the Los Angeles based studios. In 1992 Graham was invited by Universal Cartoon Studios, (a division of MCA/Universal), to move up to the feature film arena, with a three picture contract.

In 1994 Graham created Graham Morris Animation, Inc. (GMA) to develop and explore interactive and computer animation. GMA received a contract from the United States Air Force to produce an interactive documentary for the flying squad, the "Thunderbirds.”

During 1998 and 1999 Graham concentrated his efforts in the music video industry. In 1998 Graham timed Pearl Jam's "Do the Evolution" which was nominated for a Grammy Award in that year. In 1999 Graham co-directed Korn's, "Freak on a Leash," which won MTV's "Best Rock Video Of The Year" and in February of 2000 Graham won the Grammy Award as director for "Best Short Form Video."

Over the last few years Graham has worked with Fred Durst on the Limp Biskit video," Boiler," and Shakira, for her video, “Objection.” He is also involved in a project with Billy Corgan, (Smashing Pumpkins,) “ Glass and the Machines of God.” At present he is working on an animated sequence in a live action feature for Dreamworks.
